This week was extremely eventful with the Business Symposium, smart goals, and a four-day weekend. In my opinion, this past week truly provided me with an immense level of confidence in myself with my professional skills and goal setting. At the Business Symposium, I felt that conversations in my interviews and networking were almost effortless because of my professional experiences. One thing that I made sure to do in any conversation was to smile and maintain a positive attitude. My face actually hurt near the end because of all of the smiles. Anyhow, this symposium was a great way to begin the year because I will be confident in my interviews to come.

Something I found interesting in the symposium was the goal station with the guest speaker. The topics discussed was directly correlating with the SMART goals assignment to generate short and long term objectives that cater from my passion of the overarching goal. In my case, I am passionate about medicine and its ability to directly help others, so this was the overarching idea of all of my goals. Next, I broke it down to three shorter termed goals: my mentor search, final product creation, and college enrollment. All three of these objectives are more short term yet vital to pursuing medicine in the future.

I am really taking my goals to heart and working on them now. I have started to submit my applications to colleges and to complete the required materials. This was a lengthy process over the four-day weekend, but this is a must to even begin dream about a career in medicine. In addition, by the end of the week, I will be completing more research for ideas for my original work, which would hopefully segway to my final product. Regarding my mentor situation, I will be calling more professionals next week and hopefully setting up more interviews. All in all, this week was very structured for my needs and goals, and I can take all that I have learned to reach closer and closer to being a medical professional.

Best Regards,
