Time to Research

Over the course of this week, I was able to have my final product conference and create my updated final product proposal. After my last mentor visit and the conference, I changed some minor things about the wording and added more about the publication process. I was able to solidify the purpose of the publication which is to target parents to get echocardiograms for their newborns along with the general testing. This way heart conditions will not be a surprise if that arises. I plan to create a publication as the awareness aspect for patients to research and also an added component of a brochure of this information in layman's terms that could perhaps be in hospitals for parents to be directly aware of. My short term goal for my product is to complete all of the research components and find a list of people to contact for interviews by the end of spring break. The type of professionals I intend to meet include pediatric cardiologists, image specialists, and insurance representatives.

For the next week, I plan to start my research process and complete my first research assessment regarding my final product. I will start with echocardiogram testing in general first and then transition into newborn testing and perhaps insurance plans. All in all, this week was heavily centered over my final product and will continue to be for the next couple of months, which will lead to the end of my high school career.
